The Mike Levine Trio featuring vocalist Wendy Petersen and special guest Gene Nichols

Piano, Bass, Drums, Vocals

All from S FL. The Mike Levine Trio, along with vocalist Wendy Pedersen, has been performing throughout Maine for the last 14 years. The group covers a lot of musical ground reaching into The Great American Songbook, Blues, Pop, Latin and a few originals all with a Jazz treatment. With Mike on Piano, Bassist Nicky Orta, and Drummer Steve Salo, the music keeps audiences engaged and grooving. Not to mention, Wendy is a world class vocalist, who moves you into the lyrics of each song.

Our local Music Man, Gene Nichols will make a guest appearance. He is a graduate of SUNY Potsdam and Northern Illinois University, and from 1985 until 2020 he served as Professor of Music at the University of Maine at Machias until UMaine Machias no longer offered a music concentration within their Interdisciplinary fine arts program replaced the program with Creative arts consisting of visual arts and creative writing. In 2017 Gene was honored with Maine Academy of Modern Music's Maine Music Educator award.  He was a baritone horn player, truck driver and bandleader/Music Director for the Clyde Beatty-Cole Bros. Circus, and has performed with the Syracuse, Bangor and Passamaquoddy Bay Symphony Orchestras. He is a multi-instrumentalist whose principal musical pursuits lately have been: directing and performing with the UMM Ukulele Club (founded in 1928), improvising music with any number of local friends under the collective name Les Trois Étoiles, and composing new lyrics to his 7-beat mantra. He likes to make and hear music with whatever’s available. He is interested in all sorts of music, especially from scratch. Some favorite instruments are ukulele, bass trumpet, hubcaphone and saw.
